Safe Routes to Schools and Parks Committee
- Assess infrastructure, safety, and social barriers to walking and biking to school
- Develop a GIS Community Mapping Team, which includes youth
- Produce a map of current safe routes to schools and parks and a map of routes that need new safety measures/infrastructure
- Create walking school bus routes to school and recruit volunteer “drivers.”
- Establish and promote an annual “Walk and Bike to School Day” event
- Identify a priority infrastructure project wish list for improving safe routes to schools and parks.
- Choose an infrastructure project and seek funding
