Community and School Gardens Committee
- Open public parks or city-owned property for community gardens
- Find locations for at least three gardens
- Create neighborhood groups for new gardens
- Develop school food garden initiatives at each school in the Kingston City School District
- 9 of 14 schools in the first year
- Develop community garden initiatives at selected area non-profits (churches, subsidized housing, community centers, etc.)
- Increase capacity in Kingston neighborhoods to process, store, and distribute local produce.
- Provide local produce within a walkable distance of the people who have limited access
- Neighborhood farmers’ markets
- Midtown greenhouse
