Safe Routes to Schools and Parks Committee
The Safe Routes Committee envisions the Kingston City School District as a walkable and bikeable community for children on their way to school and to play. When children walk or bicycle on a daily basis, they burn off energy, which helps them to stay healthy and be able to concentrate better in school. They are also likely to carry these habits into adulthood for a healthy lifestyle. The committee is currently taking actions to 1) encourage more children to walk or bicycle to school and 2) diagnose barriers to safe routes in the school district and work with municipalities to fix them.
