 MONDAY FEB 20 IS A HOLIDAY  - CITY HALL CLOSED.  TRASH PICKUP DELAYED ONE DAY.

 NOTICE:    There are new stop signs at Elmendorf and Brown Avenues 

 SNOW EMERGENCY NEWS WILL BE POSTED AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE  

  • A snow emergency will be declared automatically 2 hours after accumulation of 3" of snow or at 3" if deemed necessary and will remain in effect until conditions warrant lifting of said emergency.
  • When snow reaches 3" of accumulation after 12:00 midnight and before 8:00am, emergency will not be declared until 8:00am of same morning.
  • NO vehicles may be parked on City streets during and up to 24 hours after a snow emergency.  Vehicle left on street may be ticketed and or towed.
  • Property owners are responsible to clear their sidewalks of snow and ice within  12 hours after the abatement of a snow event.
  • When property owners do not clear their sidewalks of snow/ice within the prescribed time, the City of Kingston may levy a fine. 
  •  Should a contractor be needed to remove the snow and ice the cost will be added to the tax bill of the property owner.
