Kumar Persad | The Commission on Human Rights, in the City of Kingston, is responsible for receiving complaints of alleged discrimination because of race, creed, sexual orientation, age, gender, military status, disability, marital status. We seek the assistance of the State Commission on Human Rights, in the resolution of complaints which fall within the jurisdiction of the State Commission, and prepare our own plans in the case of other complaints, with a view to reducing and eliminating such alleged discrimination through the process of conference, conciliation, and persuasion: hold conferences and other public meetings in the interest of and in the constructive resolution of racial, religious and nationality group tensions and the prejudice and discrimination occasioned thereby; investigates complaints of sexual harassment and the Director serves as the Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Officer.
