Project Host
City of Kingston
Project Goals
The goal of this project is to create a multi-generational chess "playground" to encourage play for all ages. This project will install two chess tables, four benches and possibly a shade structure at one of the City of Kingston's parks. Also included will be some programming for monthly chess meetups. We hope that people of all ages will come together to share a game.
This project came to be because the
Health & Wellness Department and the Play Well and Age Well Focus Teams of the
Live Well Kingston Commission applied for an
AARP Community Challenge Grant. Play Well works on improving access to our parks and Age Well works on improving services and programming for seniors.
